THE STARS OF SUMMER
At MODERNBEAST summer means one thing - outdoor adventures with our always eager beasts! Hiking trails, running (or walking) on the beach, neighborhood pup parties - you name it, we’re game. But as the temperature rises, so does our desire for cool and delicious treats for our favorite companions. So, to celebrate this activity packed time of year, we’re sharing our favorite fast (prep takes about 5 minutes), healthy (coconut oil, need we say more?) and oh-so-cute (stars with stripes!) treat to make. And the best part? NO BAKING!
INGREDIENTS: (Amounts vary depending on the size of your silicone molds)
- Organic Strawberries
- Organic Blueberries
- Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil*
EQUIPMENT:
- Silicone ice cube tray
- Mini Cuisinart or blender
- Measuring spoon
RECIPE:
- Puree strawberries and set aside.
- Puree blueberries and set aside.
- Warm coconut oil to a liquid and set aside.
- Using a measuring spoon, fill the bottom of each mold in your silicone tray 1/3 full with strawberry puree.
- Place in freezer until solid.
- Using a measuring spoon, place a layer of coconut oil on top of the strawberry puree. Your mold should be 2/3 full.
- Place in freezer until solid.
- Using a measuring spoon, fill blueberry puree to the top of your molds.
- Place in freezer until fully frozen.

*Never shared coconut oil with your beast? Start slow (some vets recommend starting with ¼ teaspoon per day) or consult your vet - they know your dog, and they always have great advice.
